You can clearly feel the warmth of the southern parts and intensive aroma of exotic flowers.
The top notes are fresh and fruity: mandarin, grapefruit, peach, and apricot. When I opened the package and read the name, I expected something light and summery, definitely aquatic but eventually citric. A year-round daytime fragrance, very unique, sophisticated and elegant as well as fresh, holiday-esq and uplifting! i feel this could be used in any occasions and any season. At times I pick up a slight minty scent, feeling like I am at the dentist getting a fluoride treatment or something.
*shrug* Not going to pass this one along, I may try this on a really hot and humid day, but so far, not tripping my trigger.
Not an immediate scrubber/get this the heck off of my skin, but is just not something I want to smell like.
Suitable for anyone with elegance - I predict most who love her will be past their teens. This is the best exotic/tropical scent for me so far. Longevity is excellent, 10 plus hours without much fading. It has everything – sunscreen, citronella candles, coconut, and daiquiris. Petersburg, Florida of all places and this is a very Florida fragrance.
It is very complex and develops really interesting from tart, juicy citrus top notes to sweet woody base. This is the perfect beach scent: aquatic, tropical fruits and florals, COCONUT, with the perfect amount of sweetness. I think that It would be inappropriate to wear at night and I normally don't pay any attention to what time or season a fragrance should worn. It sort of invokes someone listening to "Walking on Sunshine" in a Camaro convertible. Noses are very strange, Laguna on me has no citrus whatsoever, it is a long lasting musky woody scent sweetened by fava tonka and amber.
I have the same experience with musk and cedar (though I actually love those notes). It's soft and creamy and dreamy and beachy and kind of *everything* you might want to smell like when you want a mood lifter or something to make you simply feel comfortable and pretty. While it's strong lemon and vanilla (on me) for the first 5 minutes, it settles pretty quickly into a soft (but still complex, still unique) scent. Though not listed as an aquatic, to me Laguna has a distinct aquatic note that is nonetheless welcome, much to my surprise! It's got a "cold" feel, first of all, however the f*** that's accomplished, without feeling refreshing (to me). I do get some impression of water, but no natural body of water - maybe a trace of skin after a swimming pool dip? And a strong sweet suntan lotion connotation - I can't pick out coconut as a note, but I'm guessing that's it, as a blur of chemical sweetness. The other notes are mixed so well that I can't single any one out.
It's very light, but I will get whiffs of it well into the evening, especially if it's a hot day, or the scent has gotten on my clothes. To explain: I LOATH aquatics normally, thanks to that odorous aroma chemical, Calone. I don't really find it special, not even back in the 90s. Laguna might look as summer fragrance, but there is depth in there that is not typical for the ordinary summer scents.
I had/have been looking for some fragrances for hot humid days, and this one just is not doing the trick for me.
In fact Laguna besides the creaminess has a bit of powderiness brought by iris.
I once wrote about my story with Laguna (as a Guest) - that I fell for it in late 1990s before my Proms, purchased in mid 2000s, gave it to a friend as I couldn't wear it but fell for it again.
Now- blind buy- after all I have sniffed-- my nose is too adult for this; Marine- fresh- nice- just smells like a very good deodorant stick.
And DALI- the greatest artist of the 20th century.......
Maybe the too many notes just translate weird on my skin.
